This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic, and visionary sales leader to join our executive team as the Chief Commercial Officer. As the CCO, you will own.
You will optimize organizational processes to support our ambitious growth strategy, collaborate with other key functions, and help shape the agenda.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll focus on:
Commercial Strategy & Execution:
Drive, own, and be accountable for the overall commercial strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Ensure seamless coordination between the sales, marketing, and operations teams to meet growth objectives.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for the commercial teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
Cement the brand position as the undisputable market leader in the mid-capacity residential and up to 100kW Commercial lease-to-own offering.
Sales Channel Development:
Design and implement a nationwide channel sales strategy for the Arnergy and Inaeko brands that reach grassroots levels and have significant market share in urban, peri-urban, and rural areas.
Build and manage a network of regional Channel sales teams, distributors, and sales outlets with an optimized Go to market strategy, ensuring effective penetration in key markets.
Establish innovative methods to engage and educate local communities on the benefits of solar energy solutions.
Distribution Network Expansion:
Lead the build-out of a robust distribution network across regions to ensure efficient and timely delivery of products and services.
Ensure logistics and supply chain processes are optimized in alignment with the company’s goals for market expansion.
Affiliate Marketing & Partnerships:
Develop and grow a robust affiliate marketing program to drive customer acquisition through third-party channels.
Cultivate strategic partnerships with influencers and businesses to accelerate the nationwide deployment of lease-to-own rooftop solar solutions into the mainstream market.
Build a robust partnership framework with State and Federal governments, public sector agencies, and large enterprises through a robust (B2B2G) model to enable large-scale implementation in healthcare, education, public facilities, and civil servants' residences.
Market Analysis, Competition Benchmarking and Growth:
Analyze market trends, levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) for competing energy sources, customer preferences, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
Expand the customer base by targeting new and viable energy segments and enhancing existing offerings.
Financial Management and Analysis:
Work closely with the CFO to ensure adequate financial planning and budgeting to support the company's growth objectives.
Review and analyze Sales, financial reports and performance metrics to make data-driven decisions for blitzscaling while solving for profitability.
Marketing and Sales Support:
Lead and work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing strategies that align with the company's growth objectives.
Leverage data and analytics to measure marketing performance and optimize marketing initiatives.
Drive a mix of ATL, BTL, digital and new media while maximizing return on marketing investment.
Reporting & KPIs
Develop and maintain comprehensive reports on commercial activities, performance, and market developments for the CEO's daily and weekly dashboard, monthly management report and board quarterly reports.
Set and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for sales, customer acquisition, and market penetration across the different products, markets and regions.
Requirements & Skills
You'll be a good fit for this role if you have experience with:
Industry/role specific: Good understanding of the utility industry, finance consumer-oriented hardware products, and management consulting with experience in a high-growth scale-up environment.
Strong commercial acumen with a focus on driving revenue and market expansion.
Work experience within high-growth scale-ups, scaling teams through various stages of growth.
Experience in developing nationwide sales channels and distribution networks.
Strong expertise in affiliate marketing and partnerships, preferably in energy solutions.
Solid understanding of B2B, B2B2G, finance, and operating lease sales models.
Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
Strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and data-driven decision-making approaches.
Strong negotiation skills within a multicultural context.
Experience working with multicultural teams and institutional investors.
Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage teams across multiple regions.
High level of emotional intelligence and leadership abilities.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to pivot and adapt strategies based on market needs.
We’d also like to see:
MBA from a reputable institution will be a strong advantage
20+ years of Tier-1 Banking or multinational experience, with at least ten years in a senior management role.
Prior proven CCO, Executive Director, MD/CEO, Partner, or senior commercial leadership experience in Banking, FMCG or Telecom.
Ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that align with the company’s vision.
Ability to communicate excellently both in written and oral presentations.
