Job Title: Human Resource (HR) Manager

Responsibilities
Facilitate achievement of business strategies by managing day-to-day human resources activities.
Support the building of a value driven culture and fostering a positive work environment.
Manage and coordinate all company’s recruitment recruitments and strategic recruitments in portfolio companies
Champion the formulation and implementation of an effective performance management and compensation structure.
Participate in and provide inputs in the development of the company’s overall strategic goals and objectives.
Oversee and champion the articulation and development of Human Resources strategies ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy and business objectives.
Ensure the development and effective implementation of policies and procedures that cultivate a positive work environment.
Demonstrate ownership of and communicate the department’s strategic direction and objectives ensuring mutual understanding of roles, responsibilities and accountabilities.
Approve and coordinate the execution of the function’s work programmes and plans.
Coordinate and facilitate the development/update of an optimal organization structure to support the achievement of corporate goals and objectives.
Oversee the planning and documentation of workforce requirements, including the tracking and monitoring of the organization structure and manning levels.
Champion the formulation and effective implementation of recruitment strategies and plans to identify, select, hire and retain the best talent to meet the company’s manpower needs.
Oversee the candidate sourcing and selection process ensuring equity and fairness; and that the right caliber of people are recruited into the organization.
Coordinate the design and implementation of need-based, cost-effective learning and development strategies to support the Company’s business goals and improve corporate performance.
Articulate the Company’s succession and career management strategy and assume responsibility for implementation once necessary approvals are obtained.
Ensure the formulation and implementation of an effective performance and career management strategies that would help sustain a performance driven culture and ensure appropriate balance between staff’s personal and organizational goals.
Oversee the implementation of the organization’s performance management system to ensure it is objective, equitable, transparent and merit driven.
Contribute to the identification of high-potential employees and succession planning efforts.
Oversee the design, implementation and effective monitoring of appropriate employee reward strategies, policies and programs to enable the attraction and retention of the best talent.
Facilitate the development of a change receptive and collaborative culture by acting as a change champion and agent; and ensuring that the workforce is adequately carried along when key changes/ decisions are being made.
Identify and suggest tactics for positioning the Group as an employer of choice
Continually review and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the department’s policies, procedures and processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and resolution in a timely manner.
Conduct investigations and address disciplinary matters when necessary.
Process and ensure timely payment of salaries and staff allowances
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Oversee the preparation of the department’s annual budget and monitor its implementation.
Review and authorize expenditures/transactions of the department in line with the approved departmental budget and the organization’s manual of authority.
Prepare periodic reports and perform other duties as required/requested.
Perform any other duty as assigned.
Qualifications
A First Degree or its equivalent in any discipline.
Relevant postgraduate/professional qualification.
Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience.
Strong understanding of HR principles, laws, and best practices.
Mature individual, firm and focused on achieving results while balancing with good relationship management across board.
Highly proactive, assertive and results driven.
Good communicator, intuitive with high sense of tact.
Skills:
Deep knowledge of strategic human resource management and an ability to leverage learning points and trends to improve human capital management in the company.
Sound understanding of the company’s strategy and an ability to guide the articulation and implementation of plans and programs to enable the achievement of this strategy particularly from the perspective of functional areas under the role.
Good appreciation of the business context, operations and inter-dependencies and an ability to balance business and people needs.
Good understanding of operational improvement
Maturity and tact, and the ability to relate with the various interest groups as required.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage relationships effectively.
Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Very strong negotiation and influencing skills and a rich network of relationship.
Salary
N650,000 - N750,000 monthly.
