Job Title: School ICT Administrator

Location: Ejigbo - Alimosho, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• The School ICT Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the school's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure, ensuring seamless functionality, security, and support for teaching, learning, and administrative operations.
• Reports to: Head of School

Responsibilities
Technical Support:

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support for staff and students.

Network Administration:

• Manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and internet connectivity.
• Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Ensure network security and compliance.

System Administration:

• Manage and maintain server infrastructure (e.g., email, file, and database servers).
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Ensure software updates and patches.

ICT Services:

• Manage email, internet, and phone services.
• Support audio-visual equipment and multimedia resources.
• Develop and maintain ICT policies and procedures.

Data Management:

• Ensure data backup, recovery, and security.
• Manage student information systems (SIS) and other databases.
• Analyze and report on ICT usage and trends.

Student Records:

• Maintain accurate and secure student records.
• Manage student information systems (SIS).
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Social Media:

• Manage school social media accounts (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).
• Develop and implement social media strategies.
• Monitor and moderate online content.

Training and Support:

• Provide ICT training for staff and students.
• Develop user guides and documentation.
• Offer technical support for educational software.

Communication:

• Collaborate with teachers to integrate ICT into curriculum.
• Participate in school events and projects.
• Communicate ICT-related information to staff, students, and parents.

Other Responsibilities:

• Stay updated on emerging ICT trends and technologies.
• Participate in IT projects and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with ICT-related policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in ICT administration.
• Previous work experience in a similar position in a school is an added advantage
• Strong technical skills in networking, server management, and software support.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable:

• IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft).
• Experience with educational ICT systems.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.

Work Schedule:

• Typically 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday.
• On-call duties may be required.
