Job Summary
As a Business Development Officer for our e-library platform, you will be responsible for driving growth and expansion opportunities. Your primary focus will be on identifying potential partnerships, forging relationships with publishers, authors, academic institutions, and other relevant stakeholders, and developing strategies to enhance our e-library's content offerings and user base. You will play a crucial role in devising innovative approaches to market our e-library platform effectively and sustainably.
Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the e-library's content portfolio and user base.
Build and maintain relationships with publishers, authors, academic institutions, and other content providers to secure licensing agreements and acquire high-quality content.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective strategies to promote the e-library platform and increase user engagement.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for growth.
Analyze sales data and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance the e-library's offerings and user experience.
Develop and deliver presentations, proposals, and pitches to potential partners and stakeholders.
Negotiate and finalize agreements, contracts, and terms with content providers and partners.
Stay updated on industry developments, technological advancements, and best practices in digital publishing and e-library management.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including product development, content curation, customer support, and finance to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators, sales metrics, and business development activities to senior management.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnership management, preferably in the digital publishing or e-library industry.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and market trends to drive informed business decisions.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with digital publishing platforms, content licensing agreements, and intellectual property rights is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Flexibility to travel as needed for business meetings and conferences
