Job Title: Accountant

Location: General Gas - Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing and collections.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and reconciliations.
• Assist in budget preparation and financial planning activities.
• Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Monitor and manage company cash flow and liquidity.
• Prepare and submit tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Provide financial support and advice to other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
• Minimum of 2 years proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a Tech startup or similar environment.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity and ethical standards.
