Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Bioinformatics Scientist to join our dynamic team in the RELIANCE Project.
The candidate will be responsible for applying bioinformatics, computational biology, and genomics expertise to analyze large-scale genomic and biological datasets.
The Bioinformatics Scientist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and data scientists to support cutting-edge research in resistance mechanisms, diagnostics, and treatment of diseases of Public health importance.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze high-throughput sequencing data (e.g., RNA-seq, WGS, etc.) related to studies of diseases of Public health importance.
Integrate and interpret large-scale biological datasets to derive meaningful insights.
Develop, implement, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines and algorithms for processing genomic data.
Utilize machine learning models, statistical tools, and computational methods to enhance data analysis.
Maintain and curate biological databases related to researches of diseases of public health importance and genomic studies.
Develop and maintain bioinformatics tools for data visualization, analysis, and sharing across the project teams.
Ensure high-quality data processing and maintain clear, reproducible workflows for all analyses.
Collaborate closely with project scientists, clinicians, and laboratory teams to design experiments, analyze results, and interpret data in the context of TB research & other diseases of public health importance.
Prepare scientific reports, presentations, and manuscripts based on research findings.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational Background:
PhD or Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in bioinformatics tools, pipelines, and software (e.g., GATK, Bowtie, SAMtools).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl for data analysis and algorithm development.
Experience with high-performance computing environments and cloud-based bioinformatics workflows.
Familiarity with database management systems and statistical analysis tools (e.g., SQL, STATA).
Experience:
A minimum of 7-8 years of experience in bioinformatics, particularly in genomics or infectious diseases.
Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, including WGS, RNA-seq, or similar.
Core Competencies:

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
