The Well Intervention Engineer is responsible for planning and executing well intervention and completion operations, ensuring adherence to HSE, technical, regulatory, and commercial standards.
The role focuses on enhancing oil and gas production through operational and technical excellence in all WIC activities.
Key Responsibilities include developing and implementing WIC plans for well testing, completion, and stimulation operations, while driving continuous improvement in processes to optimize production across operated wells within the assets.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, monitor and optimise well testing (including well unloading) operations, stimulation, wellhead maintenance, well completion and workover operations for all wells and ensure they are carried out in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner and in compliance with HSE and operational commitments
Provide support to the Asst GM, Well Engineering for well completions/testing/workover operations and provide inputs during the planning of well designs to enhance and optimise production to meet business oil & gas targets.
Maintain performance management initiatives for all well intervention activities ensuring that Company KPI are gathered, evaluated and reported to guide senior Management to evaluate performance
Lead and participate in the process of contractor performance review and periodic service company audits to ensure that Company business objectives are achieved.
Act as an advisor and mentor for young staff. Provide appropriate resource and competence levels to deliver safe, efficient and effective well intervention activities by ensuring that the staff receive appropriate training and development to enhance production efficiency
Ensure all well service equipment is manned by properly trained equipment operators and assist in any relevant training to enhance productivity and minimise accidents.
Maintain close relationship with relevant regulatory and industry bodies, completion service companies and other operators to ensure Company remains involved where appropriate with industry initiatives and new technology to enhance productivity
Responsible for ensuring that WIC related budgets and approved for execution jobs accurately reflect intended project scopes of work and enable Company to accurately forecast expenditure as part of business improvement plan

Develop and maintain Company fit-for-purpose (i) Well Intervention Procedures and (ii) Well Intervention Philosophy manuals.
Provide inputs for and reviews of well surveillance program and ensure alignment with WRFM.
Prepare the specifications for all the items present in the completion/test/workover design and prepare/assist in preparation of scope of work for all completion/well testing/ workover related equipment and services to deliver an efficient well to meet planned production
Participate actively in the Company well delivery process providing input to conceptual well design to ensure future well intervention objectives and integrity are achieved during the life cycle to support the business delivery.
Perform periodic site visits to ensure operations are carried out according to Company policies and procedures and in line with industry best practices and Company quality assurance and control programme to meet Corporate safety and delivery standards.
Requirements
A university degree (Bachelor's) or HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience working in similar capacities
Possession of a valid IWCF / WIPC (combined supervisory levels 2, 3, 4, & 5) certificate or equivalent
Demonstrated record of success in fostering continuous improvement in well costs and productivity while driving a cost-conscious approach across all levels of the company.
Demonstrated record of success in a leadership role managing employees, contractors, vendors and managing service companies.
