You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring efficient storage and retrieval of materials and finished products to support the needs of production and distribution.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and stock locations using inventory management software or manual tracking systems.
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, fabrics, trims, and finished products, and coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely replenishment and availability of materials.
Conduct regular physical inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, and investigate root causes of inventory variances to maintain inventory accuracy.
Stock Control and Replenishment:
Implement stock control procedures, including stock rotation, shelf-life management, and first-in-first-out (FIFO) principles, to minimize stock obsolescence and waste.
Forecast inventory requirements based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and historical consumption patterns, and place orders with suppliers to replenish stock as needed.
Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to expedite urgent orders, prioritize critical items, and optimize lead times for material deliveries.
Warehouse Operations:
Organize and optimize warehouse layout and storage arrangements to maximize space utilization, facilitate efficient material flow, and minimize handling costs.
Supervise receiving, inspection, and storage of incoming materials and finished products, ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and storage requirements.
Coordinate with production managers and quality control supervisor to ensure seamless flow of materials and products between warehouse and production areas.
Inventory Reporting:
Prepare regular stock status updates and reports.
Requirements
Proven experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or materials management, preferably in the fashion or textile industry.
Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, inventory management systems, and warehouse management software, with proficiency in using inventory management tools and software applications.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders to achieve inventory management objectives.
Detail-oriented mindset and accuracy in record-keeping, inventory tracking, and inventory reconciliation processes to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance.
Proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate inventory challenges, implement proactive solutions, and respond quickly to changing inventory requirements.
