We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Coordinator

Location: Onikan, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: The MD

Job Summary

• The successful candidate will be at senior management level and is directly responsible for the Projects Department (the construction arm of the business).

Responsibilities

• Oversees all the construction projects.
• Ensures all projects are delivered to the exceptional quality the company is known for, on time, and to budget.
• Manages the entire project workforce(staff, casual workers, and sub-contractors) involved in the various projects. This workforce ranges from unskilled labourers, to Engineers, Architects, Project Managers, and very specialized sub-contractors.

Qualifications

• Must possess an HND / B.Sc / M.Sc Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Building Technology at the very least.
• Other certifications (like PMP), and professional memberships will be an advantage.
• Must have a minimum of 15 years experience - 10 years as a contractor’s Site Manager, and thereafter 5 years as a contractor’s Project Manager overseeing various large projects simultaneously. He Must have risen through the various steps in the construction ladder - from Site Engineer, to Site Manager, to Project Manager, and finally to a position equal to or very near Head of Projects. This is very important for an in-depth knowledge of construction works, which is a critical ability necessary for this role.
• In the course of his career he must have handled from start to finish, 2nos 10-storey buildings, or in the alternative 2 projects valued at N5m each. This is also very important for an in-depth knowledge of construction works, which is a critical ability necessary for this role.
• Criteria 3 and 4 above are critical as he MUST know the minute details of construction, otherwise he cannot handle this role. He cannot supervise people if he doesn’t know what they know and more. Candidates who do not meet criteria 3 and 4 should not be invited as we will not interview them.
• He should have a very good command of construction contract administration (JCT of FIDIC).
• He must be very honest and transparent.
• He must be able to meet tight deadlines. Construction is all about deadlines so he must be willing to work long hours, weekends, and public holidays.
