Job Title: Senior Accountant with ERP System Expertise

Description 

• The Senior Accountant with ERP System Expertise is responsible for managing the accounting functions and financial operations of the organization, with a strong focus on utilizing advanced accounting systems such as Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, ERPNext, and QuickBooks.
• This role ensures that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, financial reports are generated timely, and the financial systems are optimized to enhance the organization’s efficiency.
• The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of multiple ERP platforms, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team in financial process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:

• Oversee all general accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing.
• Ensure timely preparation of financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes across all financial systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).

ERP System Management:

• Oversee the implementation, customization, and maintenance of accounting systems such as Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, ERPNext, and QuickBooks.
• Ensure seamless integration between financial modules and other business modules like sales, procurement, and inventory.
• Provide expertise in automating workflows, improving data accuracy, and optimizing the use of ERP functionalities.
• Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve any ERP system issues, as well as implement new features or upgrades.
• Train and guide accounting staff on the effective use of ERP systems to enhance productivity.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Generate comprehensive financial reports from ERP systems to support management’s decision-making processes.
• Perform financial analysis including variance analysis, profitability reports, and cost-benefit assessments.
• Develop customized dashboards, KPIs, and reporting templates to streamline financial tracking and reporting.
• Leverage ERP systems to provide real-time data for strategic planning and forecasting.

Audit and Compliance:

• Manage internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and audit trails within ERP systems.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, tax filings, and internal financial policies.
• Implement internal controls within ERP systems to safeguard financial data and mitigate risks.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Prepare and maintain the organization’s annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Utilize ERP systems to monitor budget vs. actual performance, providing variance reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop financial models within ERP systems to project future financial performance and assess the impact of various scenarios.

Process Improvement and Automation:

• Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting workflows, leveraging ERP functionalities to automate routine tasks.
• Lead financial process optimization projects, including implementation of new features and ensuring user adoption.
• Stay current with updates to ERP systems and recommend best practices for process improvement.

Leadership and Team Management:

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring proper training and development in both accounting principles and ERP systems.
• Provide leadership in cross-functional teams to align financial operations with broader business strategies.
• Conduct regular training sessions on new ERP features and financial best practices for staff and other departments.

Qualifications
Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or ICAN are preferred.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 2 years of experience in using ERP systems such as Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, ERPNext, or QuickBooks.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and cash flow management.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and local taxation regulations.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in ERP systems, particularly Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, ERPNext, and QuickBooks.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to understand and map financial processes within ERP systems.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and influence teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
