Job Title: Project Pharmacy Manager
Location: Kano
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Ensures that narcotics, psychotropics and other controlled drugs are properly managed in the project according to national regulations and MSF protocols.
Ensures physical inventories are conducted on a regular basis (partial inventory), and as a minimum before the preparation of each international order(full inventory).
Ensures strict compliance to national guidelines and MSF procedures for the management, storage, handling and safety of expired and/or damaged medical items in the project.
Follow up and ensure the proper management and regular update of any Emergency Preparedness Response Plan stock at the project level.
To create proposal or new strategies to improve the stock management and follow up of medical stocks at the various end user units in the project.
Supports MSF-WACA in the registration/renewal of the pharmacy warehouse license via use of his / her PCN license when the need arises.
Ensures the proper security of and control over access to the pharmacy premises.
Analyzes regularly the data produced by Isystock and anticipates the needs based on project activity.
Check coherence between consumption and prescriptions for a list of vital and essential medical items, to be defined with the project medical referent.
Collects information relating to any undesirable side effects of medicines and communicates it to the project medical referent and pharmacy coordinator.
Collects and analyses pharmacy related data and indicators for reporting purposes (particularly donations, orders, problems, stock shortfalls, etc.).
Advise the project medical referent appropraitely on all pharma related activities (old and new) in the project.
With the project medical referent, draws up a standard list of products per type of consumption units/activity (health centre, hospital ward, etc.) to form the project medical standard list.
Participates, along with the medical referent and the pharmacy coordinator, in drawing up, consolidating, planning and preparation of medical orders and annual planning of operations (ARO).
Supervises the reception of international orders and/or Local purchase items in the project and recording of all data in Isystock (receipts and issue).
Ensures that the approval process for orders from the different consumption units (departments, health centres, emergency boxes, etc.) is followed.
Ensures archiving of all documents is properly done (pro-forma orders, packing lists, etc).
Supervises the pharmacy supervisor, storekeeper, store keeper assistant and medicine dispenser.
Defines the team’s training needs in accordance with project objectives and regularly organizes on-the-job training for team members and all staff managing drugs (ward supervisors, dispens-ers) concerning the pharmaceutical issues (storage, inventories, dispensary).
Carries out individual reviews for the members of his/her team at least every 6 months.
Organises and leads regular team meetings as well as sharing relevant information flow within his/her team.
Required Skills and Competencies
Education: Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent 4-5 years diploma) is required.
Mandatory licensing with Pharmacy Council of Nigeria.
Experience: 2 years of demonstrated experience as a pharmacist is required.
Experience in MSF or other NGO is desirable.
Languages: Essential fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Knowledge of Hausa is desirable.
Knowledge: Computer proficiency in MS Word, advance excel, internet is required.
Advance knowledge of Isystock is desirable.

Remuneration
According to the MSFW salary scale (Level 10) in Nigeria
