Job Title: E-Library Librarian

Job Summary
As a Librarian for our e-library platform, you will be responsible for managing and curating digital collections, ensuring access to quality resources, and providing support to users in navigating and utilizing our e-library effectively.
Your role will involve cataloging digital materials, organizing information, assisting users with research inquiries, and promoting information literacy.
Additionally, you will collaborate with other team members to enhance the user experience and expand the e-library’s offerings.
Responsibilities
Manage the acquisition, cataloging, and organization of digital materials in the e-library’s collection.
Develop and implement classification systems and metadata standards to ensure efficient access to digital resources.
Conduct regular assessments of the e-library collection to evaluate its relevance, accuracy, and diversity, and make recommendations for additions or removals.
Provide reference and research assistance to users, including helping them locate relevant resources, navigate databases, and utilize research tools effectively.
Collaborate with content providers, publishers, and authors to acquire new digital materials and negotiate licensing agreements.
Promote information literacy by developing instructional materials, conducting training sessions, and creating user guides on how to effectively use the e-library’s resources.
Monitor usage statistics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimize the e-library services and offerings.
Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in digital librarianship, online information access, and electronic resource management.
Collaborate with other team members, including business development, marketing, and technical support, to enhance the overall user experience and promote the e-library platform.
Ensure compliance with copyright laws, licensing agreements, and privacy regulations in the management and distribution of digital materials.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or a related field with a focus on digital librarianship.
Experience working in a library setting, preferably in digital libraries or online information services.
Strong knowledge of library cataloging standards, metadata schemas, and digital asset management systems.
Proficiency in library automation software, content management systems, and online database searching techniques.
Excellent research skills and the ability to assist users with diverse information needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with users, content providers, and team members.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to adapt to changing technologies and workflows in a dynamic digital environment.
Familiarity with copyright laws, intellectual property rights, and ethical considerations in digital librarianship.
