Director, University Health Services at the Federal University, Dutse

Federal University Dutse is located in the ancient town of Dutse, the Jigawa State Capital. The University focuses on a strong tradition of distinguished scholarship, research, teaching, and services, with a commitment to increase and disseminate scientific, humanistic, and social knowledge for the benefit of society at large. The University was among the nine (9) universities established by the Federal Government on the 9th of February, 2011. It has ten (10) Faculties, including the College of Medicine and Allied Medical Sciences and a School of Postgraduate Studies, with a population of over fifteen thousand (15,000) students.

We hereby announce that the University Management has declared the position of Director, University Health Services vacant and therefore applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position:

Qualification

• Must possess an MBBS Degree from a recognized institution;
• Must be a registered member of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN);
• Must possess NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate or Letter of Exclusion where applicable;
• Appropriate computer literacy is mandatory;
• Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience as a medical practitioner.

Function

• The Director, University Health Services, is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor in providing professional and administrative leadership at the University Health Centre(s).
• The Director performs the duties of Chief Medical Director, recommends the appointment of staff, and oversees their deployments.
• Additionally, the Director initiates and makes recommendations for manpower development, provides community services in accordance with the town and gown relationship, and undertakes other duties as may be assigned.

Duration

• The tenure of the Director is for a single term of five (5) years, non-renewable.

Salary Scale

• CONMESS 7.
