Job Summary
As the IFRS Manager within Interswitch's Finance and Supply Chain group, your primary role is to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) while also contributing to the company's financial strategy and operational efficiency.
You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and providing guidance on complex accounting issue
Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures in line with IFRS standards.
Oversee the preparation of financial statements and ensure their accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provide technical accounting guidance and support to finance teams across various business units.
Stay updated on changes to IFRS standards and assess their impact on the company's financial reporting.
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and ensure timely completion.
Conduct regular reviews of financial controls and processes to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.
Lead or assist in special projects related to financial reporting, such as mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial systems and reporting tools.
Train and mentor finance staff on IFRS compliance and best practices
Participate in meetings with senior management to provide insights on financial performance and compliance matters.
Functional Strategy Formation and Implementation:
As the IFRS Manager at Interswitch, you will spearhead the formulation and execution of strategic initiatives to optimize revenue generation and receivables management, all while ensuring alignment with the company's overarching business objectives.
You'll be at the forefront of anticipating and addressing complex financial challenges, particularly those pertaining to revenue recognition and receivables within the finance and supply chain domain.
Your responsibilities will encompass strategic planning and tactical modeling tailored to the revenue and receivables landscape, integrating risk considerations into broader business strategies.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll identify and mitigate risks associated with revenue leakage, payment delays, and bad debt, all while aligning efforts with the company's risk appetite.
Leadership and Direction:
In your leadership capacity, you'll identify and communicate actions required to implement revenue and receivables management strategies, ensuring alignment with Interswitch's mission and values.
You'll cultivate a culture of excellence and commitment to achieving financial objectives, motivating teams to adhere to revenue and receivables management strategies while providing support and guidance as needed.
Driving the performance of direct reports, you'll set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.
Identifying and developing talent within the team will be instrumental in promoting continuity and growth within the organization
Educational Qualification
A First Degree in Business, Accounting, Statistics, Finance or other related fields.
Evidence of strong industry/sector participation and relevant professional certifications such as:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)
Experience:
At least 10 years experience in finance, data or business analysis, preferably in a reputable Financial Institution or FinTech company
Managerial Experience:
At least 7 years' experience of planning, managing and organising resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.
