Job Title: Group Tax Manager
Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Objective
The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and planning for all the companies within the group. This position involves working closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and regulatory authorities to ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations while also identifying opportunities for tax savings and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Tax Compliance:
Oversee the timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, payment of taxes, including corporate income, sales, V.A.T., withholding, property taxes and other applicable taxes.
Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current tax legislation.
Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors during tax preparations, reviews and/or audits
Review current taxable general ledger account and advise on appropriateness of transaction
Tax Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the organization's tax position.
Provide expert advice on tax implications of business decisions.
Analyse tax implications on budgeting and forecasting.
Conduct tax risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Manage tax accounting, including provision and deferred tax calculations.
Conduct research and analysis on various tax matters, including changes in tax law, tax credits, and incentives.
Own the registration and maintenance of all tax filing in all countries of operation. Ensuring proper alignment with country laws and regulations and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Develop withholding structures for vendor payment, if applicable.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review tax provisions for the financial statement reporting process to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting of tax-related information in the company’s financial statements.
Communicate tax-related information to all stakeholders.
Audit Support:
Facilitate tax audits by preparing necessary documentation and responses to inquiries from tax authorities.
Develop and maintain relationships with tax authorities.
Assist in resolving any tax disputes or issues that may arise with governmental agencies.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies within the tax function.
Ensure that tax-related practices and procedures are documented and updated regularly..
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree /HND in accounting, Finance, or any related field.
CITN (Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria), CIMA, ICAN, CPA or any other relevant certification will be an added advantage.
Required Experience:
10+ years of experience in tax compliance, planning, and strategy, preferably in a corporate tax environment or public accounting firm.
Strong knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws regulations.
Strong experience interpreting Tax laws and guidance.
5+ yrs of Value Added Tax (VAT) experience in Nigeria is an added advantage
Ability to speak French and English language is an added advantage
