We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Finance and Operations (Fintech)

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • The Head of Finance and Operations will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.
  • This position is responsible for developing and executing financial strategies, managing budgets, and optimizing operational processes to drive growth and sustainability.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Oversee financial audits and liaise with external auditors.

Operational Leadership:

  • Optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective operational management.
  • Collaborate with department heads to streamline operations and improve workflows.
  • Analyze operational metrics and identify areas for improvement.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor the finance and operations teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Provide guidance on professional development and performance management.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure effective recruitment and training of finance and operations staff.

Strategic Planning:

  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives and provide financial insights to support organizational growth.
  • Identify and evaluate investment opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial and operational strategies with overall business objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a key liaison between finance, operations, and other departments.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners, including banks, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate financial and operational performance to stakeholders, including the Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in finance and operations management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills:

  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of core banking applications.
