The Production Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas facilities.
This includes operating and monitoring process vessels and ancillary equipment, which involves production, processing, loading, storage, and ballasting operations.
The role requires continuous monitoring and addressing/responding to plant and equipment issues, managing control room operations, and handling process boundaries.
Performing routine operator duties, interfacing with experienced control room operators and maintenance personnel to ensure all equipment is available for startup or properly secured after shutdown.
The scope of work also includes operating and monitoring gas compression and glycol systems, water and gas injection systems, and executing offloading procedures as required.
Additionally, the Production Operator is responsible for ensuring all subcontractors are properly permitted and monitored for adherence to safe working practices and company protocols within the assigned area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Optimizes operational equipment such as compressors, pumps, FPSO tank related work, etc.
Performs operation of complex equipment such as the Gas Turbine Compressors, Fired Heaters, Turbo-Expanders, Pipeline pumps, etc.. This includes lining up, isolating, starting-up, monitoring and shutting-down this type of equipment consistent with the safe working practices, procedures, company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Responds appropriately and effectively in the event of a process upset and emergencies
Performs routine duties to check isolation valves statuses, Motor Control Center (MCC) switch gear status, Fire Monitor testing, safety equipment inspection, fire & gas systems etc., andleveraginghandheld and desktop IT tools to capture daily equipment/plant monitoring statues.
Performs troubleshooting and front-line maintenance on process equipment and cascades to the maintenance team for repairs via a workorder system.
Performs critical operations such as pigging, topping of turbine oil, monitoring generators and general operations of oil and gas equipment and facilities.
Operates the Distributed Control System during routine operations under the direct supervision of an experienced Console Operator.
Processes daily work permits for maintenance and other support work groups and fulfillrole of Facility Site Reps to ensure work site is safe to work.
Acknowledges, responds and initiates corrections/actions to process alarms.
Maintainsreports and update system daily reports.
Functions as a member of the emergency response team organization (ORT and Coxswain activities)
Assists in organizing and directing preventative maintenance and housekeeping activities.
What You Will Bring
Qualification:
B.Sc / HND / OND (Second Class Honours, Upper Division/Upper Credit) in Engineering or Applied Sciences disciplines.
Experience:
0-4 years’ relevant post-graduation experiencein oil & gas production/processing operations or in a heavy industrial process driven environment, performing operational tasks.
Expertise:
Knowledge of oil and gas production systems and equipment.
Ability to operate and maintain production equipment.
Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
