Job Title: Dispatch Rider

Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Delivery of Items:

• Transport and deliver packages, documents, and other items to clients and businesses across Lagos.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and as scheduled.

Route Planning:

• Plan efficient routes to minimize delivery times and costs, taking into account traffic conditions and road closures.

Communication:

• Maintain regular communication with the dispatch or logistics team to receive instructions and updates.
• Notify clients of delivery status, including any delays or issues.

Documentation:

• Collect and manage delivery receipts and documentation, ensuring proper records of deliveries.
• Ensure that all items delivered are documented and signed for by recipients.

Vehicle Maintenance:

• Perform routine checks on the motorcycle or vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to management promptly.

Customer Service:

• Interact with clients and recipients professionally, representing the company positively.
• Address any concerns or inquiries from clients related to deliveries.

Compliance:

• Adhere to traffic regulations and company policies while on the road.
• Ensure that all items transported comply with legal and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Education: A Secondary School Certificate is usually sufficient; additional training in logistics or transportation can be an advantage.
• Experience: Previous experience as a dispatch rider or in a similar role is preferred.
• Licensing: A valid motorcycle rider’s license and a good driving record are essential.

Required Skills:

• Riding Skills: Proficiency in riding motorcycles safely and confidently.
• Navigation Skills: Familiarity with Lagos roads and ability to navigate effectively, using GPS or maps.
• Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Customer Service Orientation: A friendly and professional demeanor when dealing with clients.

Work Environment:

• Dispatch riders in Lagos often work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where traffic conditions can vary significantly.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing situations are important traits for success in this role.

Salary
N50,000 - N70,000 / month.
