Job Title: Primary Science Tutor

Location: Lugbe, Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

• Provides personalized, one-on-one or small group instruction to primary school students in science subjects, aiming to complement their classroom learning.
• The tutor adapts lessons to meet the specific needs and learning styles of the student, using engaging, hands-on approaches to enhance understanding.
• The goal is to improve students' knowledge, confidence, and academic performance in science, while making learning fun and accessible.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and Deliver Lessons:

• Design and tailor lessons that align with the curriculum and address the individual needs of each student.
• Use age-appropriate teaching methods such as interactive activities, experiments, and visual aids.

Identify Learning Needs:

• Assess students' strengths and weaknesses in science.
• Adapt teaching approaches to cater to different learning styles, ensuring all concepts are clearly understood.

Foster a Love for Science:

• Engage students with exciting science topics that spark curiosity, such as experiments or real-life applications of scientific concepts.
• Encourage questioning and exploration to deepen understanding.

Track Progress and Provide Feedback:

• Monitor students’ progress over time, identify areas that need improvement, and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
• Provide constructive feedback to both students and parents or guardians on progress.

Prepare for Exams and Assessments:

• Help students review key scientific concepts, practice answering questions, and develop exam techniques.
• Provide support with homework, assignments, and school projects.

Create a Positive Learning Environment:

• Build a supportive and encouraging atmosphere to boost students' confidence in their abilities.
• Address any anxieties or struggles the student may have with science in a patient and motivating manner.

Stay Updated with Curriculum Changes:

• Keep up with any updates or changes in the primary science curriculum to ensure lessons are aligned with school expectations.

Incorporate Technology and Resources:

• Use educational tools, videos, and online platforms to make learning more dynamic and interactive.
• Introduce students to online simulations, science apps, or virtual lab experiences where applicable.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an NCE qualification with 3-4 years experience.

Salary
N40,000 - N45,000 monthly.
