Job Title: People and Culture Associate (GDI)
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Job Responsibilites
Advancing GDI in the Workplace:
Develop the institute’s GDI Strategy and Action Plan in alignment with the CGIAR GDI Framework and Action Plan and track implementation.
Work collaboratively with the CGIAR GDI Function in developing and adapting materials and engage with internal and external stakeholders toward the successful implementation of the institute’s GDI Action Plan.
Collaborate with people leaders (line managers) to promote a positive work culture and an enabling/engaging environment in the institute.
Manage and coordinate efforts, programs, events, and activities relating to GDI in the workplace.
Participate in GDI meetings and capacity-building events.
Support the inclusive management of talent at all levels in the institute.
Initiate and coordinate the work of the GDI Steering Committee.
Provide advice to management on the advancement of GDI in the institute.
Provide feedback on guidance notes and other requests for input from the CGIAR GDI Function.
Present quarterly progress reports on the implementation of the GDI Action Plan, showcasing progress towards attaining the Action Plan objectives in the GDI matrix.
Recommend and drive programs and activities which promote relevant eLearning such as unconscious bias, diversity, inclusion, equality, disability and mental health awareness for new staff and encourage refresher courses for all staff.
Collaboration, Education, and Outreach:
Collaborate with the Communication Unit in advancing GDI in the workplace.
Work with colleagues in Organizational Development to design themes, actions and outcomes for team-building events focused on Diversity and Inclusion.
Provide support for, and participate in, the activities of a range of employee resource groups (ERGs).
Support the investigation of cases of grievances relating to harassment and discrimination and exclusion.
Work in partnership with the Gender Specialist (under the gender research platform).
Support the design and administration of staff engagement surveys, analyzing feedback and developing remedial actions in collaboration with the consultants.
Promote awareness of gender equity, diversity and inclusion in the institute at HQ and across the hubs with a view to breaking down diversity and inclusion barriers and creating an enabling and inclusive workplace.
Promote the integration of GDI in learning and ensure managers and staff attend necessary GDI courses.
Adopt and disseminate GDI training and knowledge tools.
Collaborate with the People Data and Systems Team for timely compilation and submission of GDI data.
Other assignments:
Join in unit-led corporate events and other unit programs and activities.
Provide support to other People and Culture initiatives.
Serve in task teams as may be assigned.
Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
BSc / HND in Social Science, Humanities or other related field with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment with membership of a recognized HR professional body e.g., CIPM, CIPD, HRCI, SHRM.
Master’s degree in the Social Sciences is an added advantage.
