Job Description
The Telesales Officer is tasked with generating sales by making outbound calls to potential customers, following up on leads, and offering products or services.
They play a key role in building relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and closing sales deals over the phone.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Lead Generation:
Make outbound calls to prospective and existing customers to promote products and services.
Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services.
Handle customer inquiries, provide product information, and answer questions related to pricing, features, and availability.
Achieve sales targets by convincing customers to make purchases.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
Follow up with leads, and maintain contact with previous clients to encourage repeat business.
Provide after-sales support, ensuring that customers are satisfied with their purchases.
Product Knowledge:
Stay informed about the products or services offered by the company.
Understand the features, benefits, and pricing of products to effectively communicate them to potential customers.
Keep up to date with industry trends and market competition.
Data Management & Reporting:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all sales calls, customer interactions, and sales activities.
Update CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems with customer information, lead progress, and sales outcomes.
Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly sales reports for management review.
Handling Objections:
Address any concerns or objections that customers may have about the product or service.
Offer alternative solutions or clarify information to help move the sales process forward.
Use persuasive techniques to overcome customer hesitations and close sales.
Customer Feedback:
Gather customer feedback and report any product or service issues back to the team.
Work with the customer service and product development teams to improve offerings based on customer input.
Cross-Selling & Upselling:
Identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling to customers based on their needs and preferences.
Offer additional services or products that complement the initial purchase.
Qualifications
Strong phone communication skills and the ability to engage customers effectively.
Familiarity with CRM software and basic computer skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
