Job Description
Search is seeking an experienced People & Culture Coordinator for our office in Jos.
The People and Culture (Human Resources) team is responsible for the implementation of Human Resource strategies and policies, effective HR management, staff performance management, and facilitation of knowledge building and sharing.
The Human Resources team collaborates with other departments, including Programs, Finance, Procurement, Admin & Logistics, Program Development, Safety & Security and Information Technology.
The People & Culture Coordinator will report to the Country People & Culture Manager
Responsibilities
Reinforce Search for Common Ground’s and donor’s rules, regulations, policies, processes, procedures, and standards to uphold People and Culture compliance and confidentiality.
Maintain high-level working knowledge of Search for Common Ground’s policies, procedures, standards, Code of Conduct, Nigeria labor laws, People and Culture best practices, etc.
Maintain quality control measures for accuracy and integrity of employee data for data analysis and reporting.
Establish, foster, and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external departments and stakeholders.
People and Culture Operations:
Conduct periodic checks on People and Culture operations systems, processes, and procedures for effectiveness and efficiency.
Recommend corrective actions to People and Culture operations systems, processes, and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
Collaborate on updates and revisions of People and Culture policies and procedures, guidelines, and processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
Ensure data quality and accuracy of the People and Culture Information System (HRIS).
Coordinate organizational People and Culture programs and initiatives.
Compensation and Benefits:
Collaborate on compensation function including, salary scales, and salary increases, job leveling, job descriptions, to ensure internal equity and reflect market trends.
Collaborate on salary data analysis and reporting.
Recommend corrective actions for salary inequity
Contribute to the implementation of corrective actions.
Performance Management and Employee Relations
Apply organizational best practices and labor law regulations to performance management and employee relations, including corrective and disciplinary actions.
Counsel employees on performance management and employee relations matters.
Partner with department and team lead on recommendations for promotions, transfers, and position reclassifications.
Recruitment:
Apply organizational best practices to the full-cycle recruiting process, including position descriptions, salary recommendations, new employee orientation/ onboarding, etc.
Infuses organizational values into all work.
Other duties that are broadly in line with the above key contributions as assigned.
Consultancy Procurement
Support in reviewing of TORs and Purchase request for Posting
Support in Procurement Documentation for Consultancy
Facilitate consultancy payment.
Documentation:
Process documentation of HR files, paperwork, databases and records relating to personnel activities
Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained

Conducts Quality Control of team documents, briefing materials, presentations, and systems data. Carefully reviews and checks the accuracy of information in work reports, management information systems, or with other individuals and groups. Checks the accuracy of one’s own and others’ work. Proactively informs management of potential risks and concerns; suggests resolutions.
Independently prioritizes time to reach deadlines and reaches end results of assignments with ability to accomplish multiple steps with limited to no supervision.
Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills that will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding Policy.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organization Development, organization psychology or related field.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions in INGO
Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, or employee relations is an advantage
Ability and willingness to travel throughout Nigeria
Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with staff in course of work.
Proficiency in the use of G-Suites.
Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.
Good judgment and decision-making skills.
Experience with start-up, exit or similar experiences
Ability to adapt to new cultures and work in diverse environments.
Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of respect and inclusion; and
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is a requirement
