Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose
To design, develop, and oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment within various construction projects.
The Mechanical Engineer will ensure that all mechanical components are functional, safe, and efficient while meeting project requirements, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and review mechanical designs, specifications, and drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems in line with project requirements.
Perform technical calculations and simulations to determine mechanical performance and safety standards.
Evaluate and select appropriate materials and equipment for mechanical systems.
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into the overall building design.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate mechanical engineering activities to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
Monitor and control project costs, ensuring efficient resource allocation and minimizing wastage.
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems on construction sites.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications during the installation process.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications.
Develop maintenance schedules and procedures for mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, providing technical solutions to prevent recurrence.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and upgrades.
Ensure all mechanical systems comply with local, state, and national regulations, as well as company standards.
Perform quality assurance checks and inspections to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of all mechanical engineering activities, including drawings, specifications, and maintenance records.
Evaluate and manage suppliers and subcontractors for mechanical components and services.
Review and approve vendor proposals, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budgets.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
Identify opportunities for improving mechanical systems, processes, and project delivery.
Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and technicians as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other mechanical design software.
Experience with project management tools and software.
