Reuters, a global leader in trusted news and information, is launching the Reuters News Accelerator Program (RNAP), an intensive program designed to bring talented local journalists into our global newsroom and accelerate their careers with us.
RNAP is launching with a cohort in sub-Saharan Africa, and our aim is to have the program focus on a new region each year.

The Photojournalist is a part of the Reuters News Accelerator Program.
Reuters Pictures is seeking a dynamic and talented Visual Journalist with experience in photojournalism and video skills (or a strong desire to learn), to be based in Lagos, Nigeria.
About the Role
As a Photojournalist, you will:
Cover news and sports events with a focus on producing in-depth human stories
Demonstrate a firm understanding of the country’s political landscape.
Participate in assignments with multimedia teams, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing assignments
Pitch and develop story ideas on a wide range of subjects.
Ensure safety protocols are followed and communicated effectively.
Comply with local laws and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
About You
To be a Photojournalist at Reuters, you will likely have:
Minimum of five years of journalistic experience in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel to breaking news stories, often at short notice and to work in a high-pressure environment.
Proven storytelling skills, and a strong desire to work on long-term, in-depth stories.
Excellent news judgment and in-depth knowledge of the pictures business.
Understanding of the latest digital visual technologies for photographing, filming, editing, and transmitting.
Fluent English.
