Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Eric Kayser an internationally renowned restaurant committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and providing strategic insights to support the restaurant's growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers affecting financial performance and provide actionable insights to management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts aligned with business objectives.
Monitor budget performance and work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
General Ledger Management:
Oversee the general ledger accounting process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals to maintain integrity in financial reporting.
Financial Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing financial reporting and taxation.
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and address any audit findings or recommendations.
Process Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes and implement solutions to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
Leverage accounting software and technology tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve accuracy.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and analysis of inventory levels.
Collaborate with operations team to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
Team Leadership and Development:
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence, integrity, and accountability in all financial activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
HND / BSc
Experience:3-5years
Proven 4 to 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles within the hospitality industry, preferably in a restaurant environment.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
Salary
N250,000 per month.
