About the Project
The Southern Religious and Traditional Leaders Engagement Project is designed to collaborate with traditional and religious leaders to foster community development, health initiatives, peacebuilding, and social reforms.
The project aims to leverage the influence of these leaders to improve outcomes in maternal health, education, polio eradication, and conflict resolution across Southern Nigeria.
Position Summary
Talent Lab is seeking a highly motivated Zonal Lead to spearhead project activities across Southern Nigeria.
The Zonal Lead will be responsible for building strong relationships with traditional and religious leaders, coordinating project activities within the zone, and ensuring effective implementation aligned with the overall project goals.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in stakeholder management, a deep understanding of local cultural and religious dynamics, and the ability to work independently within a larger project team.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish and maintain productive relationships with traditional and religious leaders, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
Project Implementation:
Lead zonal project activities, ensuring they are culturally and religiously appropriate and aligned with community needs.
Capacity Building:
Organize and facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance the leadership roles of traditional and religious figures in health, peacebuilding, and community development.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Track progress, provide reports on the success and challenges of zonal activities, and analyze data to assess impact.
Advocacy and Communication:
Advocate for the inclusion of traditional and religious leaders in local decision-making processes, and communicate the project’s achievements to a wider audience.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the central project team and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and avoid duplication of efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Political Science, Religious Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, or working with traditional and religious leadership structures in Nigeria.
Strong knowledge of the cultural, social, and religious dynamics in Southern Nigeria.
Proven track record of managing multi-stakeholder projects.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in English and local languages spoken in the zone.
