Job Title: Head Miller (Maize Milling)

Location: Ilaro, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job summary

• The Head Miller will responsible for ensuring that the best possible extractions are realized as well as the required quality of finished products are achieved by implementing the daily plans, schedules and coordinating the activities of Maize Mill from intake, screening, milling and packaging.

Key responsibilities

• Setting all process machines.
• Monitoring and Cross – checking to ensure that all process settings are maintained
• Delegating task to subordinate and checking that targets are met and job carried out satisfactorily.
• Schedule and Supervise maintenance of plant machines: - plan sifter, roller mill etc.
• Ensure effective utilization of raw materials.
• Supervise the cleaning of the plant, tools and environment.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production milling reports and submit to the Plant Operations Manager timely
• Liaise with the Plant Engineer on scheduled planned maintenance.
• Liaise with Quality Assurance Department on product conformity and non - conformity.
• Check spare parts, review report and report stock level to Plant Operations Manager
• Carryout any other instruction that might be given by the Plant Operations Manager

Qualifications

• First degree in Food Technology, Mechanical/Agricultural Engineering or any Applied Science degree with at least 8 years of experience in maize milling or OND/City and Guilds in Maize milling with 15years experience
• Must have previous experience in Maize milling operations from a successful company.
• Exceptional communication and critical-thinking skills
• Must be detail oriented and will be required to do precise data analysis
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good leadership & Management skills
• Food safety expertise.
• Understanding of industry best practices
• Membership of related professional bodies such as the Nigeria Institute of Food Science and Technology.
