Job Summary
The IT Support Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving our company’s IT infrastructure
Troubleshooting computer issues for internal employees, and implementing new IT solutions to optimize our internal operations and aiming to provide the highest level of functionality and efficiency across the organization in alignment with its business goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, business intelligence, big data, Quickbooks, advanced analytics
Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
Maintaining records of software licenses and managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies.
Should also have a background in Performance and Capacity Planning of High End Enterprise and Midrange Storage Arrays, Network Connectivity and related performance expertise and knowhow.
Deploy and Manage Microsoft office 365 and other applications e.g Odoo ERP, NMS, across the organization
Install and manage system security and end point security (e.g. Sophos, intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery across the entire organization.
Responsible for training users on new systems, software, and hardware, to ensure that employees are using technology appropriately and efficiently.
Implement and manage Virtual and private cloud platforms (Vmware, Openstacks, proxmox, server virtualization, storage)
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT Systems Support Engineer or any related role.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Vmware, Comptia, MSCDBA etc) are a plus.
Strong problem-solving abilities to quickly identify, analyze, and effectively solve complex technical problems.
Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts in a simple, understandable manner to non-technical users.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively, often under pressure, to meet deadlines and service level agreements.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Implement and manage Virtual/cloud platforms (Vmware, servers, storage)
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux Operating Systems; knowledge of network protocols and configurations.
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems.
Extensive knowledge of computer systems, networks, and relevant software to troubleshoot and resolve issues that users encounter.
Knowledge of security protocols, IT systems, and network configuration to ensure that systems are protected against threats.
Experience in network configuration and data management, providing support for both hardware and software issues.
Experience in designing, developing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications.
