Job Title: Medical Doctor / Telemedicine Program Director
We are seeking a Medical Doctor/Telemedicine Program Director to deliver medical care to our clients over a modern telemedicine platform.
The successful candidate will be expected to plan, manage and deliver outstanding healthcare delivery outcomes to remote patients supported by a team of field nurses.
The ideal candidate will be expected to combine the usual attributes and capabilities of a skilled clinician with the use of modern remote consultation and telemedicine tools to support patients in remote locations.
While proceduralists are welcome to apply, this position is best suited for a medical doctor interested in primary, family and/or community health interventions within an organized corporate/training environment.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, manage and treat common health problems, as may be found in a primary, community or family medical practice.
Research and consult with specialists to diagnose and treat uncommon health conditions as may be identified in the routine course of the practice.
Prescribe or administer medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
Collect and analyze medical history, records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patient.
Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.
Provide operational guidance and mentoring to the available nursing and medical support team.
Refer patient to medical specialists or other practitioners as and when necessary.
Plan, implement, and administer health outreach programs in communities for prevention and treatment of injuries or illnesses.
Champion awareness and adherence to applicable healthcare laws and regulations, and ensure the early adoption of evolving best practices.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following requirements:
Must be a qualified medical doctor with a minimum of 5 years of post-residency experience.
Possess outstanding bedside manners and demonstrable capacity for patient care.
Be comfortable with the use of computers and computing devices.
Have the ability to create and maintain good health records.
Possess outstanding writing and verbal skills as well as facility with modern office communication tools.
Prior experience as a teacher or instructor, or work in a training or educational establishment would be an advantage.
