Job Title: National Coordinator, Education Intervention Programme

Job Summary
To lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the Organization’s Education Intervention Programme, which aims to deploy solar-powered mobile classrooms and address out-of-school children’s educational needs in strategic locations across Nigeria.
This role is central to ensuring alignment with UNESCO and SDG 4 objectives, promoting access to quality education, gender equality, and social inclusiveness, especially in rural areas.
Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of nationwide educational intervention programmes.
Oversee the deployment of containerized, solar-powered mobile classrooms to reach underserved populations.
Develop sustainable incentives for households to improve school enrolment, retention, and completion rates.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
Lead, manage, and mentor a diverse team of program staff, including educators, community coordinators, and field officers.
Facilitate team development through capacity-building initiatives and professional growth opportunities.
Grant Proposal Development and Fundraising:
Lead the development of grant proposals and fundraising efforts to secure financial support for the education intervention program.
Cultivate relationships with current and potential donors, including government agencies, international organizations, and private foundations.
Grant Management Compliance, Reporting and Evaluation:
Oversee the financial management of grant funds to ensure proper allocation, utilization, and compliance in line with donor guidelines, grant agreements, and organizational policies.
Prepare and submit comprehensive grant reports to donors and funding agencies, detailing project progress, financial expenditures, and outcomes.
Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) teams to track program impact and ensure alignment with grant objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Community Engagement, Partnership and Advocacy:
Collaborate and engage with rural communities to foster participation and ownership in educational initiatives.
Collaborate and maintain partnerships with local and international NGOs, government agencies, and other stakeholders/relevant organizations to uphold children’s rights to education.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track program progress and impact.
Prepare and present regular reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Monitor and evaluate program success, ensuring alignment with UNESCO and SDG 4 objectives.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
PhD in Education, Education Management, or a related field.
At least 20 years of experience in education, with demonstrated experience in educational program design, management, and evaluation, preferably in developing or rural areas.
Extensive experience in programme management within the non-profit sector, preferably managing large-scale educational programs or interventions in rural or underserved areas.
Demonstrated experience in working with government bodies, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
Skills and Competence:
Strong experience in developing successful grant proposals, securing diverse funding, and managing donor relationships
Expertise in budget management, expenditure tracking, and ensuring compliance with grant-funded project reporting.
Proven ability to produce detailed grant reports and collaborate with teams to measure programme outcomes.
Strong leadership skills in overseeing large-scale education initiatives and multi-dimensional projects.
Excellent research skills for identifying grant opportunities, analyzing donor priorities, and utilizing research for program development.
Extensive background in developing curricula for mobile or alternative education environments.
Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of successful program delivery.
Skilled in stakeholder communication and advocacy with government bodies, community leaders, and international organizations.
Ability to collaborate across sectors and with organizations focused on education, child rights, and development
Strong commitment to promoting gender equality and social inclusion in education initiatives.

Able to engage with diverse communities and adapt educational programs to fit various cultural and socio-economic contexts of disparate communities across Nigeria.

Remuneration
Compensation is very attractive and subject to the level of experience demonstrated by the candidate.
