Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Transport Officer to join our team and manage our vehicle sourcing, fleet management, and driver operations.
The Transport Officer will play a crucial role in managing vehicle sourcing, fleet operations, driver management, and partnerships with other leasing companies.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in these areas, along with a deep understanding of market dynamics and the ability to ensure efficient operations and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and acquire vehicles that meet company standards and client specifications. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vehicle suppliers and leasing partners.
Fleet Management: Oversee the management and optimization of the vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are maintained, serviced, and utilized effectively.
Driver Management: Manage and support a team of drivers, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and compliance with safety regulations.
Partnership Management: Build and nurture strategic partnerships with other leasing companies to enhance fleet options and service capabilities.
Monitoring and Control: Implement systems and procedures for monitoring vehicle usage, performance, and compliance. Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, pricing, and competitive landscape to make informed decisions and recommendations. Use market insights to drive strategic planning and operational adjustments.
Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on fleet performance, vehicle sourcing, driver management, and partnership effectiveness to senior management.
Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Address any compliance issues promptly and effectively.
Requirements
Experience: Proven experience in vehicle sourcing, fleet management, driver management, and partnership development within the leasing industry.
Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of vehicle procurement, fleet operations, market trends, and industry regulations.
Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field is preferred.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software. Experience with fleet management systems is a plus.
Attention to Detail: High level of organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks efficiently.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
