LWR is implementing a Food for Progress Program to launch a cocoa productivity and marketing project in Nigeria Known as, the Traceability and Resilience in Agriculture and Cocoa Ecosystems of Nigeria (TRACE) under the sponsorship of USDA. The five-year project is to increase productivity in the cocoa value chain by applying climate-smart agriculture and expanding the cocoa market through traceability back to its source.

Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Baseline Analysis Consultant
This Scope of Work (SOW) provides the description and work to be done to conduct a gender equality and social inclusion analysis in target communities in Akwa Ibom, Abia, Cross River, Ondo, Ekiti, and Osun States in Traceability and Resilience in Agriculture and Cocoa Ecosystems of Nigeria (TRACE) Project. The work required by this TOR includes developing and testing the tools, implementation, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
Proposals will be accepted from consultants with verified previous experience in facilitating similar processes in cocoa-producing and rural areas. Consultants should possess the following combination of skills and expertise:
A Postgraduate Degree with a relevant specialization including but not limited to women/gender studies, sociology, anthropology, social science, development studies, etc., and formal research skills (both qualitative and quantitative).
At least 7 years of relevant experience in gender/GESI program design, implementation, or analysis, preferably on a US government-funded project
Experience with conducting gender/GESI analysis in rural communities
Understanding of factors of social exclusion in the country overall and specifically in target locations
Ability to conduct interviews and discussions in English, and local Nigerian language desirable.
Good eye for detail, adherence to logic, and capacity for inductive reasoning
Strong presentation, facilitating, communication, and teamwork skills.
Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to conduct discussions with a diversity of people ranging from senior management to project participants.
Willingness and ability to travel to the rural communities in the Southwest, South-South, and South-East in Nigeria.

LGAs in Abia (Arochuckwu, Bende, Ikwuano, Umuahia North)
LGAs in Cross River (Akamkpa, Boki, Etung, Ikom, Obalinku, Obubra, Obudu, Ogoja)
LGAs in Ondo (Akoko Northeast, Akoko South West, Akure North, Akure South, Idanre, Ifedore, Ile- Oluji-Okeigbo, Odigbo, Ondo East, Ondo West, Ose, Owo)
December 15, 2024 – 1st Phase (second phase will be 40 days determined after completion of the first phase.
