Over the years HIFASS has provided manpower and associated support to HJF Medical Research International, Ltd Gte in support of Research and the Nigerian Military HIV program across 34 Military Formations.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Medical Officer, Research
Location: DHQ MC Asokoro, Abuja (FCT)

Basic Function
To provide research-based medical services at the above study site.
Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Acts as a Study Physician and other study-related activities that the incumbent may be assigned to.
Responsible to the Principal Investigator and Site Associate Investigator(s) for the day-to-day implementation of clinical research protocols at the respective study site.
Supports the management of study regulatory binders/other relevant documents and communicates with the Regulatory Point of Contact (POC).
Coordinates and/or supports implementation of site quality management plan and SOPs
Provides day-to-day Clinical Management of HIV/ AIDS patients at the facility level guided by strategies and approaches related to the implementation programs.
Contributes to the development of lessons learned from programs and projects related to clinical management of HIV / AIDS, and the Prevention of Maternal to Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) and apply these lessons to modify existing programs and improve the design of new programs.
Performs other research, care, prevention, and evaluation duties as assigned.
Job Specification
Minimum Education/Training Requirement: A Bachelor’s Degree in medicine & surgery (MB;BS or MB BCh) is required. A Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or related field will be an added advantage.
Prior Work Experience: 2 years’ post-national youth service experience in general clinical care; care, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS at the clinical level, a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS thematic areas. Experience with clinical research, ARV programs and familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems are also required.
Required Licenses, Certification or Registration: Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. Up-to-date annual practicing license.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of Nigerian clinical settings, including government and non-government settings.
Knowledge of Nigerian Clinical Research regulations and practice.
Training in Good Clinical Practice.
Completion of CITI Group 3 Modules with at least 80% score in each module.
Knowledge of health and development programs in developing countries in general and Nigeria specifically.
Clinical management training and experience and ability to understand full range of issues around the clinical management of HIV/AIDS, including the provision of ART.
Ability to work well with others (team player).
Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to travel within Nigeria up to 25% of work time may be required.
Other Specification:
Candidates must be residents or ready to relocate to Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
No relocation allowance is provided.
Salary
N400,000 - N500,000 monthly.
