Job Title: Technical Training / Computer Center Coordinator
The coordinator is responsible for technical training and computer center operations in the Global Education Center (GEC) and assists with the mission of BYU-Pathway Worldwide which is to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who are leaders in their homes, the Church and their communities.
Reporting to the GEC Manager, the coordinator provides daily support to students and staff, manages the technology design and operations, and partners with area Information Communication Systems (ICS) and the BYU-Pathway Technical Operations teams.
Additionally, the coordinator manages the computer networking technical training programs and directs all curriculum needs through the faculty lead at Ensign College.
Responsibilities
Manage Computer Center:
Develop and manage the technology design and operating model for the GEC.
Partner with local Area ICS team to ensure smooth technology implementation and operations of the center.
Lead operational IT matters and projects by working with ICS, which may include IT audits, security, and privacy issues.
Develop and communicate goals, metrics, processes, and dashboards to drive operational improvements.
Deliver on other technology operations work and projects as assigned.
Computer Networking Technical Training:
Assist students to grow spiritually and draw closer to Jesus Christ.
Coordinate the maintenance, improvement, development, and training of assigned curriculum, including learning activities and assessments.
Review all assigned curriculum each semester to ensure correct setup and ongoing quality.
Evaluate each technical certificate or set of learning activities in cooperation with course councils.
Ensure all necessary CES partners are included in the planning, evaluating, and developing technical curriculum, including assessments.
Help students find employment, especially upon completion of the program.
Collaborate with Campus Partners:
Work with the GEC director and Career Manager to ensure computer center is providing the necessary support to students who have remote jobs first and to students seeking to complete assignments second.
Coordinate with instruction, course design, and with course councils to modify curriculum as assigned to improve learning or expand services for BYU-Pathway.
Collaborate with campus partners as needed to ensure the quality of technical curriculum.
Manage Personnel:
Provide direction and counsel to student employees and contractors.
Qualifications
Must be a member and worthy of a valid temple recommend.
This will require a Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant Computer-related field and 8 - 10 years or significant business and/or CES experience.
The candidates will have a proven track record of working with students in higher education, including creating and implementing new initiatives or programs.
Candidates should also have experience running a computer center or as a network administrator.
They will also possess a professional demeanor to represent the university in a manner that builds positive relations and image with professionals throughout the country.
Must have computer networking and technical skills, excellent time management skills, public speaking skills, problem-solving skills and both verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in word processing and presentation software.
Knowledgeable about learning management systems, instructional design and e-learning platforms.
Ability to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyze data.
Knowledge about traditional and modern training methods and techniques.
Exceptional organization skills, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with a team and have attention to detail.
