Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Water Treatment Plant Experience (WTP)
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in water treatment to join our team and contribute to the development, design, and maintenance of our water treatment solutions.
The Mechanical Engineer (Water Treatment) will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment used in water treatment facilities.
This role involves ensuring that water treatment plants operate efficiently and meet environmental and regulatory standards.
The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal performance of mechanical equipment and processes involved in water purification, filtration, and distribution.
Responsibilities
System Design and Development:
Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for water treatment plants, including pumps, valves, piping, and filtration systems.
Work on the design of water purification, desalination, and wastewater treatment equipment.
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for mechanical components and systems.
Project Management:
Lead and manage water treatment projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other engineers to understand project requirements and deliver tailored water treatment solutions.
Oversee procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems at water treatment plants.
Equipment and Process Optimization:
Conduct performance evaluations of water treatment equipment to identify areas for improvement or optimization.
Implement modifications and upgrades to enhance the efficiency and performance of mechanical systems in water treatment processes.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide technical support to maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that mechanical designs and installations comply with industry standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with environmental engineers and regulatory agencies to ensure water treatment systems meet all regulatory requirements.
Testing and Commissioning:
Supervise the testing and commissioning of water treatment systems to ensure proper operation and performance.
Conduct quality checks and troubleshooting during the commissioning phase to ensure that the systems meet design specifications and standards.
Maintenance and Support:
Develop maintenance schedules and procedures for water treatment mechanical systems.
Provide ongoing technical support to operations and maintenance teams, ensuring the long-term reliability of the mechanical systems.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Work closely with civil, electrical, and process engineers to ensure the integrated design and operation of water treatment systems.
Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of water treatment projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on water treatment or related industries.
Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, including filtration, purification, and wastewater treatment.
Experience in the design and operation of pumps, piping systems, heat exchangers, and other mechanical equipment in water treatment facilities.
Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and analysis tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
