Job Summary
The accountant is responsible for overseeing the entire accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and managing the financial reporting processes.
The role requires a strategic approach to managing the company’s financial resources, including overseeing daily sales tracking, cash management, inventory control, and financial reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervised the accounting team in tracking every service rendered and product sales daily, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor and maintain the approved funds limit for petty expenses, ensuring that the operational needs of the business are met without exceeding budgetary constraints.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Oversee the management of the mini-warehouse/store, ensuring that inventory levels are optimized for the timely supply of finished products to meet customer orders.
Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste, prevent stockouts, and ensure accurate reporting of inventory levels.
Supervise the preparation of group expense requisitions for fund disbursement, ensuring all expenditures are justified, approved, and within budget.
Ensure that all expenses are accurately captured, tracked, and reflected in the individual expense ledgers, providing clear visibility of financial outflows.
Ensure customer accounts are consistently updated, and outstanding balances are closely monitored to prevent overdue payments.
Develop strategies to improve cash flow by optimizing the accounts receivable process and reducing payment delays.
Prepare and review bank reconciliation statements and financial reports, ensuring they are accurate, comprehensive, and submitted on time.
Ensure full compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies, minimizing the risk of financial discrepancies and legal issues.
Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring that all necessary documentation and information are provided accurately and promptly.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (ICAN) is desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in advanced accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
