Job Title: Software Development Manager / Senior Web Developer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Web Developer/IT Manager to lead the design, maintenance, and optimization of our websites and applications.
• This role also involves providing IT support, managing software testing, and ensuring the smooth running of our technical operations.
• S/he should be able to design, code, document, test, and debug web applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the overall architecture (front-end and back-end) of websites and web applications.
• Collaborate with different teams in outlining each website/mobile application's objective and determining specifications, requirements and scope.
• Create wireframes and roadmaps to determine layouts and understand the principles of design (layout and typography).
• Manage domains, SSL certificates, email servers, and other hosting needs.
• Coordinate multiple development projects, assign timeframes and delegate tasks to team members where appropriate.
• Conduct end-user testing and ensure the seamless functionality of applications across devices.
• Debug websites, and write and review code for various applications of a website where required.
• Ensure the responsiveness of websites across various devices and platforms.
• Deploy applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Collaborate with other developers on complex projects, creating new solutions, implementing new features and or enhancing existing websites.
• Work closely with other developers on complex projects to implement new features or enhance existing ones.
• Manage software testing processes to ensure quality and functionality of all web applications.
• Lead the software development team, setting goals for members and ensuring efficient project delivery.
• Regularly test and optimize websites for search engine optimization (SEO), including on-page strategies like optimizing titles, meta tags, and anchor texts.
• Collaborate with the Social Media Team to incorporate targeted keywords into digital marketing strategies.
• Assist the IT Lead in managing IT infrastructure, including support, development, data management, and cybersecurity.
• Provide IT support, resolving technical issues and ensuring the smooth functioning of computer systems and related gadgets.
• Ensure the IT department adheres to proper documentation and ticketing systems.
• Build and maintain relationships with external vendors for IT products and services.
• Design and implement systems, policies, and procedures that comply with IT and company standards.
• Stay updated on new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in web development and IT support.
• Provide additional technical support as needed, responding to staff inquiries and resolving issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5 - 7 years of experience in web development specifically building web pages from scratch.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: Javascript, Ruby or PHP.
• Solid knowledge of HTML/CSS and experience with UI prototyping tools.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, software development fundamentals, and object-oriented programming (OOP).
• Experience in software testing, identifying bugs, and ensuring the overall quality of applications.
• Familiarity with operating systems and network protocols, and the ability to diagnose and resolve basic IT issues.
• Ability to manage and oversee IT support tasks, including infrastructure and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift equipment and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Salary
N250,000 - N350,000 / Month.
