Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our pet store on the Island in Lagos.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage staff and ensure excellent customer service.
You will be responsible for driving sales, managing inventory, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the store while maintaining a welcoming environment for pets and their owners.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pet store, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
Implement and maintain store policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Ensure the store is clean, well-organized, and properly stocked at all times.
Sales and Customer Service:
Drive sales growth by creating and executing strategies to increase revenue.
Ensure a high standard of customer service, resolving any customer inquiries or issues quickly and effectively.
Educate customers on products and services, providing expert advice on pet care, nutrition, and products.
Foster positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
Staff Management:
Hire, train, and supervise store staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about pet care and store products.
Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback and coaching.
Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and ensure that popular products are always available.
Work with suppliers to order and replenish stock, managing relationships with vendors to negotiate the best deals.
Conduct regular stock checks and manage inventory turnover to minimize waste or overstocking.
Financial Management:
Manage the store's budget, track sales, and handle financial reporting.
Ensure accurate cash handling, process transactions, and manage the point-of-sale system.
Monitor store performance metrics, including sales figures and profitability, and create action plans to achieve targets.
Marketing and Promotions:
Plan and implement marketing and promotional campaigns to attract more customers.
Collaborate with the social media and marketing team to enhance the store’s online presence and engagement.
Organize in-store events such as pet adoption drives, pet care workshops, and promotional activities.
Requirements
Available to resume immedialtely.
Must reside on the Island.
3 - 5 years of retail management experience, preferably in a pet store or similar retail environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage inventory, handle financial reports, and oversee daily operations.
Passion for animals and knowledge of pet care products and services.
Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and retail management software.
Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in a pet-related retail environment or knowledge of pet products and services.
Strong understanding of customer behaviors and retail best practices.
Knowledge of pet health, grooming, and nutrition.
Salary
N150,000 - N300,000 monthly.
