Job Title: Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Supervisor
Location: Benue

General Description
The GBV Supervisor under the supervision of Base Coordinator and techinically under the supervision of Emergency Response Manager, will be responsible for overseeing and managing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response activities within Tdh’s programs in Benue State.
This role involves providing technical guidance, support, and supervision to GBV staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to survivors of GBV, and coordinating with other stakeholders to enhance the protection and well-being of affected populations.
The GBV Supervisor will work closely with local communities, healthcare providers, and other partners to strengthen GBV response mechanisms and promote gender equality.
Responsibilities & Tasks
Program Management and Implementation:
Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of GBV prevention and response activities.
Ensure that GBV programs are aligned with Tdh’s strategic objectives and adhere to international standards and best practices.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor program activities, provide technical support, and ensure the quality of services.
Technical Support and Capacity Building:
Provide technical guidance and support to GBV staff, including caseworkers and outreach workers.
Develop and deliver training programs for staff, volunteers, and community members on GBV prevention and response.
Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment that promotes professional development and well-being of staff.
Case Management and Service Delivery:
Supervise and support GBV case management, ensuring that survivors receive timely and appropriate care.
Ensure that GBV case management services are confidential, survivor-centered, and adhere to ethical standards.
Facilitate access to additional services for survivors, such as medical care, legal assistance, and psychosocial support.
Coordination and Collaboration:
Coordinate with local, national, and international agencies to ensure a cohesive GBV response.
Represent Tdh in GBV coordination meetings and other relevant forums.
Establish and maintain relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders involved in GBV response.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of GBV programs and activities.
Collect and analyze data on GBV activities and outcomes, and prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Incorporate feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders into program improvements.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Gender Studies, Human Rights, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in GBV prevention and response, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Proven experience in managing GBV programs in humanitarian or development contexts.
Experience in case management and providing direct support to GBV survivors.
Skills:
Strong understanding of GBV principles, standards, and best practices.
Excellente communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with survivors, staff, and stakeholders sensitively and respectfully.
Ability to work in challenging environments and under pressure.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in using case management and data collection tools.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work in diverse cultural and political environments.
Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
