Job Title: Account Officer
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Responsibilities
Financial Management: Overseeing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
Client Relationship Management: Building and nurturing relationships with clients, addressing inquiries, and providing financial advice and solutions tailored to their needs.
Risk Assessment: Assessing financial risks, identifying potential issues, and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and safeguard financial assets.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and monitoring budgets, analyzing financial data, and forecasting financial trends to support informed decision-making.
Reporting and Analysis: Generating financial reports, conducting variance analysis, and presenting insights to stakeholders to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Audit and Compliance: Collaborating with internal and external auditors, facilitating audits, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Other responsibilities include:
Manage teams for accounts payable and receivable.
Communicate with customers and, if necessary, resolve billing issues.
Manage transactions involving petty cash.
Reconcile the general ledger with the accounts.
Inspect and supervise financial records to ensure legal and IRS compliance and accuracy.
Perform basic accounting tasks for the business.
Take care of customer refunds.
Skills and Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required. Advanced degrees or professional certifications such as CPA, ATS, ICAN may be preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in accounting, finance, or related fields
Demonstrable two-year work experience as an Account Officer (preferred).
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in financial analysis, data interpretation, and problem-solving to navigate complex financial scenarios effectively.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders and convey financial information clearly and effectively.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation, reporting, and analysis.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software, financial modeling tools, and spreadsheet applications such as QuickBooks, CRM, Spss, and payroll, among others to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
