Job Title: Subsurface Data Analyst

Job Description
Managing the administration and preparation of digital and physical data for use in subsurface workflows as well as the receipt and distribution of data to and from third parties, e.g. partners, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Main Responsibilities
Drive compliance with approved data standards, governance, process standards, guidelines, and policies for technical data, data management, and data quality management.
Collect, organize, and manage subsurface data including well logs, seismic data, geological interpretations, production data, and reservoir engineering data. Maintains records on the type and storage locations of physical data including seismic tapes, cores, ditch cuttings, legacy paper logs and documents, etc.
Liaise with Discipline Chiefs to formulate strategies to ensure collected data is of high quality, accurate, and legitimate before uploading to the corporate database or archiving as required
Develop and implement workflows for data management (viz: gather, organize, store, analyze) while maintaining data security, integrity, and assigned confidentiality levels.
Work with the IT department on regular data troubleshooting to ensure data security and integrity. Develop and manage data management solutions/systems as well as regular backup/restoration of data to prevent data loss. Perform data mining as required.
Support the prompt and seamless retrieval of subsurface data, and daily use of data systems to ensure compliance to legal and company data management standards and controls.
Ensure final and approved data and documents from completed studies are moved to appropriate repositories or achieved as required (e.g., SharePoint or others)
Provide administrative assistance to the subsurface team including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.
Assist GM Subsurface in preparing and formatting documents, presentations, and technical reports. Manage correspondence, emails, calendars, and phone calls, prioritizing and redirecting inquiries as necessary.
Knows the Company’s health, safety, and environmental policy, procedures, regulations, and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility. Ensure that an HSE culture of Goal Zero is in place by contributing to key initiatives and providing appropriate role modeling: demonstrate full commitment and proactive HSE management.
Educational Qualifications & Skills
B.Sc in any relevant Science / Engineering Course with 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant IT certifications (an advantage).
The Subsurface Data Manager & Admin Assistant must have a broad understanding of the E&P business to effectively support the teams in studies, exploration, operations, and production activities.
Skills in the following:
Data management, data analysis, and database administration
Maintenance of data security and confidentiality, data governance principles and practices
Good secretarial and administrative skills
Good Interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication
Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Use of data analysis tools and data management software (Python, Oracle, SQL, etc.)
Good organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and good time management skills.
Basic understanding of subsurface operations and/or the oil and gas industry.
