Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer will lead and oversee the engineering aspects of large-scale oil and gas projects from concept to completion.
This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards.
The Senior Project Engineer will be a key liaison between internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Main Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution:
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
Lead the engineering design and technical execution of projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
Oversee and coordinate the activities of multidisciplinary engineering teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, process).
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
Facilitate regular project meetings and ensure effective communication among all project participants.
Technical Expertise:
Provide technical leadership in the design, analysis, and execution of complex engineering tasks.
Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, best practices, and company policies.
Risk Management & Compliance:
Identify and mitigate project risks, including safety, environmental, and operational risks.
Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Implement and oversee safety protocols and ensure all team members adhere to safety standards.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare and present project status reports, technical documents, and progress updates to clients and management.
Manage client expectations and address any concerns or issues that arise.
Cost Management & Optimization:
Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with the approved budget.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Oversee procurement activities, including the selection of vendors and negotiation of contracts.
Educational Qualification & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field); a Master’s degree is a plus.
8+ years of experience in project engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., API, ASME, OSHA).
Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, HYSYS).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
