Responsibilities
Project Planning and Development:
Design and plan projects related to crop production, soil health, and agronomic practices.
Provide expert advice on agronomic requirements, including soil preparation, crop selection, planting techniques, and pest management.
Contribute to project scopes, timelines, and resource allocation with a focus on agronomic efficiency and sustainability.
Technical Guidance and Support:
Offer specialized knowledge on best practices for crop management, soil fertility, irrigation, and pest and disease control.
Assist project teams in troubleshooting agronomic issues and implementing effective solutions.
Provide recommendations on the adoption of new technologies, tools, and practices to improve agricultural outcomes.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Oversee the implementation of agronomy-related aspects of projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and objectives.
Monitor and evaluate project performance, including crop yields, soil health, and overall project impact.
Prepare detailed reports on project progress, agronomic findings, and recommendations for improvement.
Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration:
Serve as the primary agronomic resource for project teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
Facilitate communication and coordination between project stakeholders, including farmers, researchers, and suppliers.
Organize and lead meetings, workshops, and training sessions on agronomic topics relevant to project goals.
Regulatory and Compliance Management:
Ensure that all agronomy-related project activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
Stay informed about regulatory changes and advancements in agronomy that may impact project execution.
Research and Innovation:
Research emerging agronomic trends, practices, and technologies to support project objectives.
Evaluate and implement innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes and agricultural practices.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive records of agronomy-related project activities, decisions, and results.
Develop and deliver progress reports, presentations, and final evaluations to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, Agriculture, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
Proven experience in agronomy with a strong understanding of crop production, soil management, and agricultural practices.
Experience in project management or working within a Project Management Office is highly desirable.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and agronomy-related tools and technologies.
