Job Summary
Our client, a leading integrated solutions provider for all energy-related, engineering, Civil engineering, and construction services is seeking to hire qualified candidates to fill the below position
The QC Manager is directly responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a corporate quality control program across our clientproject sites.
Job Responsibilities
QC Strategy and Management:
Develop and implement a corporate quality program aligned with industry best practices and international standards.
Lead and manage the team of quality control professionals across multiple project sites.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure quality control requirements are met.
Develop and maintain quality control procedures, manuals and documentations
Train and mentor staff on quality control principles and procedures
Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on quality control matters.
Monitor and report on quality control performance metrics and KPIs.
Prepare Generic Quality Plans (GQPs), Project Specific Procedures (PSP), Method Statements, Quality Control Procedures & Check sheets for projects and where necessary testing their validity.
Conduct regular surveillance inspections for all activities on site and that of sub-contractors.
Ensuring that QAQC staff are adequately skilled, experienced, trained and competent to carry out their duties
Define QA / QC requirements and ensure that they are included in tenders for our clientand service contracts.
Update internal databases with all information (Corrective Action Request, Non-conformities and Deviation / Derogations etc) and prepare statistics analysis.
Evaluate Contractors, Sub-contractors and suppliers Quality plans, Inspection and Test Plans, associated documents and identifying any necessary corrective measures.
Validate Contractors Quality Plan, the level of NDE controls and qualification of NDE personnel.
Review As built dossiers for completeness and correctness.
Collate Weld maps, both structural/Piping, and generate Welding and NDE Summary reports for projects.
Review Welding Procedure Specifications and generate weld matrix log for Projects.
Review of QA/QC Project documentation.
Provide input on QA/QC annual budget
Actively promote Quality awareness and commitment within Projects.
Ensure the Implementation of Lessons learned during project execution.
Delegate and assign tasks to QA/QC Supervisors and work closely with related engineering, construction and fabrication departments.
Review and approve vendors Quality documents e.g., Inspection and Test Plans, NDE procedures, Weld Books (WPS&PQR), PWHT, PMI, Hydro test Procedures etc.
Attend quality related meetings with clients.
Evaluate the qualifications of welders and Non-Destructive Test (NDT) technicians.
Ensure that Project quality requirements are met.
Assure that activities required for the quality management system are planned, implemented, controlled, and their progress monitored.
Oversee development and maintenance of site/base QA/QC Programs and maintain interfaces with Project Team and Site management and monitor the plans and activities of Site QA/QC.
Job Requirements
B. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent disciplines (Masters Degree will be an advantage).
Minimum of 10 years cognate working experience.
Registered member with Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
CSWIP 3.1
Certified ISO 9001: 2015 QMS Lead Auditor
ASNT / NDT Level II in UT, RFI, MPI & LPI.
Strong extensive Background and multidiscipline experience in Quality Management System; Quality Assurance and Control, and coordination of Quality activities within Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and start-up Projects of various facilities in Oil and Gas industry.
Proven expertise in ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards
Professional certification in quality management (e.g. CQE, CQA)
Familiarity with Nigerian Oil and Gas industry regulations and standards
Prior work experience showing increasing levels of responsibility with a focus on operations in a fast-paced environment
Knowledgeable in welding, NDT, AWS/ASME/ANSI Codes, or other industry codes and standard
Team-oriented and performance-driven.
