Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team at Uncle Stan´s Foods.
He or she must conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and maintain a safe and functional environment for customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance checks on kitchen equipment, refrigeration units, HVAC systems, and other facilities to ensure optimal performance.
Identify and address any mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues promptly to prevent disruptions to restaurant operations.
Schedule and oversee regular servicing and calibration of equipment to prolong lifespan and maintain efficiency.
Facility Management:
Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant premises to identify areas requiring repairs or maintenance, such as plumbing leaks, electrical issues, or structural damage.
Coordinate with external contractors or service providers to address facility maintenance needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the restaurant.
Emergency Response:
Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as equipment breakdowns or facility damage, to minimize impact on operations and ensure the safety of customers and staff.
Implement contingency plans and temporary solutions when necessary to maintain essential services until permanent repairs can be completed.
Keep detailed records of emergency incidents and follow-up actions taken for future reference and analysis.
Inventory Management:
Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs.
Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to ensure adequate availability for ongoing maintenance activities.
Keep accurate records of inventory transactions and expenditures to track budget utilization and optimize procurement processes.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and procurement, to coordinate maintenance activities and address cross-functional issues effectively.
Provide guidance and support to restaurant staff regarding proper use and care of equipment and facilities to prevent damage and prolong lifespan.
Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding maintenance schedules, repairs, and any potential impacts on restaurant operations.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in hospitality or food service management is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in the role, preferably in a restaurant setting.
Strong technical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
