Position Overview
The Program Technical Director – Resource Mobilization will lead and oversee the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at securing funding and resources for the organization.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the sustainability and growth of the organization's programs by identifying funding opportunities, building relationships with donors, and crafting compelling proposals.
The Program Technical Director will also work closely with program teams to align resource mobilization efforts with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Strategic Resource Mobilization:
Develop and implement a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy to meet the financial and programmatic needs of the organization.
Identify and prioritize funding opportunities from government agencies, multilateral organizations, private foundations, corporations, and other potential donors.
Monitor trends in the funding landscape to anticipate and respond to shifts in donor priorities.
Donor Engagement and Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
Organize and participate in donor meetings, presentations, and networking events to promote the organization’s programs and secure funding.
Develop tailored communication strategies to engage and retain donors.
Proposal Development and Grant Writing:
Lead the development of high-quality proposals, concept notes, and grant applications in collaboration with program teams.
Ensure that proposals align with donor requirements and the organization’s strategic objectives.
Oversee the submission of timely and accurate reports to donors, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements.
Collaboration and Capacity Building:
Work closely with program teams to identify resource needs and develop strategies to address funding gaps.
Provide training and capacity-building support to staff on resource mobilization techniques and donor engagement.
Foster a culture of resource mobilization within the organization, encouraging innovative approaches to securing funding.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Establish and maintain a system for tracking and reporting on resource mobilization activities and outcomes.
Analyze the effectiveness of resource mobilization efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
Monitor donor satisfaction and take proactive steps to address any issues that may arise.
Leadership and Representation:
Serve as a key member of the senior management team, contributing to overall organizational strategy and decision-making.
Represent the organization at external forums, conferences, and events to raise its profile and attract new funding opportunities.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in International Development, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with extensive experience may also be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in resource mobilization, fundraising, or grant writing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within an NGO or international development organization.
Skills:
Proven track record of securing significant funding from diverse sources.
Strong understanding of donor landscape, including bilateral, multilateral, and private sector funding.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong proposal writing and project management abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.

Salary and Conditions
In accordance with GPON Terms of Employment for this role.
The income will be subject to statutory deductions as per applicable Nigerian laws.
The employee is responsible for the tax returns.
