Emel HospitalFestac Town, Lagos, Nigeria is a multi-specialists’ hospital, situated at 21 Road, Z Close in Festac Town, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Lagos, Nigeria. Emel Hospital is a purpose-built 44 bed hospital situated on a piece of land specially approved for its purpose by the Federal Housing Authority.
Emel Hospital was established in 1988 by Dr. Olufemi Mobolaji-Lawal, a consultant paediatrician. Dr. Mobolaji-Lawal trained as a doctor at the University College Hospital, Ibadan and as a paediatrician in the United Kingdom. Prior to setting Emel Hospital, he worked for some time as consultant paediatrician at Ikeja General Hospital (now Lagos State University Teaching Hospital), Lagos. He is the board chairman and his wife, Dr. (Mrs) Margaret Mobolaji-Lawal is a non-executive director.

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacy department by assisting pharmacists in providing medications and related services to patients.
The role involves ensuring the accurate and efficient dispensing of medications, managing inventory, and maintaining proper documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Medication Dispensing: Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to medical and legal guidelines.
Patient Interaction: Provide medication information to patients and healthcare providers, including instructions for use and potential side effects.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, storing, and ensuring the proper rotation of stock.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication dispensing, inventory levels, and other relevant documentation.
Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to medication safety and infection control.
Pharmacy Operations: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment and ensuring the proper functioning of pharmacy equipment.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care and ensure the safe and effective use of medications.
Patient Safety: Monitor and report any adverse reactions or medication errors, and assist in resolving medication-related issues.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Pharmacy Technician certification program preferred.
Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent certification, as required by local regulations.
Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems.
Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices.
Salary
N90,000 - N100,000 monthly.
