Save the Slum Initiative is a non-governmental organization with registration CAC/IT/NO 139240, STSI was founded in 2016 and is committed to responding to current needs to improve the lives of people living in slums and local communities across Nigeria. STSI envisions improving the living standards of vulnerable persons and communities and our overall aim is to work with urban poor to bring about long-term and sustainable transformation to their quality of life and to also provide better community-based healthcare and empowerment education and environmental improvement to all communities that will serve. We intervene in various sectors like WASH, Education, Protection, Nutrition, Health, and Livelihood of humanitarian sectors and community development projects. Since its inception in 2016, STSI has been implemented in over 16 States in Nigeria.

Project Overview
The proposed project seeks to revolutionize Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to enhance employability and promote higher productivity in Nigeria's chosen target market. This project is highly innovative and addresses several key technical features and innovations.
The project’s technical features include the development of a comprehensive and gender-responsive TVET ecosystem. It aims to eliminate barriers faced by women and youth in accessing TVET by addressing socio-cultural norms, institutional hurdles, policy restrictions, gender perceptions, logistical challenges, and financial barriers.
The project will work in close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including TVET champions and innovation support organizations, to provide targeted support for early-stage enterprises, particularly start-ups and growth companies.
What sets this project apart is its emphasis on gender-responsive pedagogy and entrepreneurship support. It will not only upskill tutors and management in TVET institutions but also empower disadvantaged groups, offer technical skills training, and mentor them. The project fosters cross-border cooperation to exchange best practices and lessons learned.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead the implementation of an innovative project aimed at revolutionizing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nigeria. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring that it meets its goals of enhancing employability and productivity through a gender-responsive and inclusive approach.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of the TVET transformation project, ensuring alignment with the project’s goals and objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including TVET institutions, government bodies, NGOs, and innovation support organizations, to foster partnerships and ensure effective project delivery.
Team Management: Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary project team, ensuring that roles and responsibilities are clear and that team members are motivated and performing at their best.
Resource Management: Oversee the project budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to achieve project outcomes.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project progress, assess impact, and ensure that the project remains on course.
Reporting: Prepare detailed project reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors, highlighting progress, challenges, and key achievements.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks to the project and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
Innovation & Best Practices: Promote the adoption of innovative practices in TVET and facilitate cross-border cooperation to exchange best practices and lessons learned.
Gender-Responsive Approach: Ensure that the project’s approach is inclusive, particularly in addressing barriers faced by women and youth in accessing TVET opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Education, International Development, or a related field.
A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within the education, development, or vocational training sectors.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and a multidisciplinary team. Experience in stakeholder engagement and gender-responsive project implementation is highly desirable.
Knowledge: Familiarity with the TVET sector, socio-cultural barriers to education, and the Nigerian development landscape.
