Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation (WEWE) is a not – for – profit, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that was founded in 2004 by Josephine Ogazi and Joseph Egwuonwu. WEWE started out as a Community Based Organisation (CBO) with the aim of providing scholarships and economic empowerment to orphans and widows in Okigwe, Imo State and has since expanded its aims and objectives. WEWE is registered as a national NGO with CAC under incorporated trustees and its registration number is CAC/IT/NO33132.

Job Title: Human Resource Officer

Key Duties & Responsibilities
S/he will assist in managing the Human Resource Portfolio
S/he will assist in ensuring that qualified and suitable staff, Fixed-term, Trainees, Volunteers, Consultants, and Temporary hires are recruited
S/he will assist in facilitating the orientation of new hires
S/he will assist in ensuring that leavers exit through the appropriate exiting procedure
S/he will assist in updating staff contact information and leave request forms
S/he will assist in the reviewing of the staff timesheet monthly
S/he will assist in the preparation of contracts for newly hired employees and contract amendments for existing staff
S/he will assist in drafting job advertisements both internal and external
S/he will assist in carrying out the shortlisting and sorting of applications as directed by the supervisor
S/he will assist in facilitating staff objective setting at the beginning of the fiscal year and performance appraisal at the end of the fiscal year
S/he will assist in verifying candidates’ background and reference check
S/he will assist in the creation of recruitment and personnel folders
S/he will assist in overseeing all the recruitment processes
S/he will assist in improving WEWE’s safeguarding practice against sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) to strengthen organizational culture
Perform all other functions as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
Graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or other Social Science-related field
Candidates must have a second-class upper (2.1) or first-class or upper credit or distinction
Candidates with Lawyer qualifications will be an added advantage
Candidates with Accounting qualifications will be an added advantage
Other related professional courses will be an added advantage
Experience:
Must have 3 to 4 years relevant experience
Candidates with legal experience will be an added advantage
Candidates with accounting experience will be an added advantage
Fluent in English Language (Oral and Written)
Have a high degree of accountability and integrity
Ability to effectively manage a variety of internal and external relationships, including relationships with employees, donors, and partners
Proven ability to work independently
Knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
