Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Record financial transactions in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Reconcile accounts and prepare balance sheets.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Generate reports on financial performance, variances, and projections].
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
Manage accounts receivable, including issuing invoices and following up on overdue payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and handle payment discrepancies.
Assist in payroll preparation and processing.
Ensure accurate and timely payment of employee salaries and benefits.
Maintain payroll records and documentation.
Assist in the preparation and filing of various tax returns.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.
Participate in internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
Implement and maintain internal financial controls.
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making.
Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
Provide recommendations based on financial data.
Maintain and update accounting software and databases.
Recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems.
Ensure data integrity and security of financial information.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred [1].
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in accounting or related field.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Adaptability to changing regulations and business environments.
